SACRED SYMBOLS OF EGYPT

In ancient Egypt symbols played a special role both in daily life and in the worship of the gods. Many of them were used as amulets by the living, or as funerary objects that followed the dead ones to the grave. According to tradition, a combination of multiple symbols increased their magical power.

During this workshop kids will become ancient Egyptian craftsmen, engravers and sculptors experimenting with ancient artistic techniques. Through the technique of embossing and painting on copper they will learn how to make their own sacred symbol, drawing inspiration from the images of ancient artifacts.
